November–December Class Series

SM Essentials

About the Series

VIRTUAL: Sundays November 6, 15, 22, 29 and December 6 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT. Can’t make class time? Recordings will be sent to students who register in advance.

You can register for the whole series (at a discount) or just the classes you want.

So you’re a sadomasochist: What do you need to know to be a good one? This series covers foundational skills for tops, bottoms, switches, and anyone who plays with pain on purpose. We’ll begin with soft skills — building a pain vocabulary, articulating desires, assessing potential partners — then dig into technical training that forms the backbone of safe play, from first aid to flogging. It’s great for folks who:

  • want a solid foundation (or thorough review) on giving and receiving pain on purpose

  • are exploring with a new partner and want to build skills together

  • play professionally and want more vocabulary, safety information, and negotiation tools

  • sometimes struggle to name, share, or navigate their desires and want to feel more secure

These classes work well as a set, but you can enjoy them separately! Each class is sliding scale, and you get a discount when you sign up for the full series.

The Pain We Want: Essential Skills for Masochism
— with Dagger

Sunday November 15 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT

Your pain play toolkit isn’t just the toys in your bag: It’s also your ability to notice what’s happening in your body, your knowledge of which sensations you love (or hate) and why, your limits, risk profile, and coping strategies when things don’t go as planned. This class is designed to help tops, bottoms, and switches alike navigate pain play more effectively. We’ll build a vocabulary of different sensations and play styles, learn skills for getting in touch with our own pain responses, and troubleshoot common issues that arise during pain scenes, including how to minimize the risk of unexpected or unwanted results.

Content note: This class includes a short, optional, off-camera exercise involving self-administered pain. It does NOT include visual representations or intense descriptions of injury.

Everything You Need to Know About Impact Play
— with Dagger

Sunday November 29 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT

A class on the fine art of hitting people with things! Impact play is many people’s absolute favorite kink, and one of the most satisfying to learn and deliver. This everything-you-need class begins with a rundown on how (and where!) to hit safely and tips for successful negotiation and warmup, then dives in with live demonstrations and technique walkthroughs on a wide range of implements. We’ll cover slapping, spanking, punching, paddling, riding crops, canes, evil sticks, and (time permitting) the audience’s choice of “weird” toys from my collection — from leather tentacles to gardening tools to an electro-conductive paddle made of barbed wire.

What to Expect:

All virtual classes are live on Zoom. You’ll receive everything you need via email as soon as you register. Most are two hours long, including time for Q&A. Can’t make the class time? As long as you register by class time (or for a series, as long as you register by the final class), you’ll get access to the recording. Recordings will be available to watch until the next series of classes begins. After that, the only way to access them will be via the recorded class library on Patreon. (Classes get added there two months after the original series.) For more information on recordings, check the FAQ.

Get Licked! is for everyone: queer, straight, trans, cis, binary, non, monogamous, polyamorous, kinky, vanilla, and all other folks are welcome. Be kind to each other and help each other learn. We are here in community.

Many classes include activities to help you grasp material and build skills. Participation is encouraged, but never required. Listen to your body, and do what feels good for you.
