October Class Series:
Monsters Within
About the Series
VIRTUAL: Sundays October 12, 19, 26, and November 2 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT. Can’t make class time? Recordings will be sent to students who register in advance.
You can register for the whole series (at a discount) or just the classes you want.
As the days get darker, Get Licked! presents a class lineup for ritualists, roleplayers, and anyone who’s drawn to the dark. This month’s series explores topics that send shivers down our spines and remind us of our vulnerability — movies about murder, meditations on mortality, monsters that stalk our fantasies, and the monstrousness of our own desires. This series is designed for the curious as well as advanced players, especially folks who:
already know the basics and want tools for deeper, darker play
want ideas for roleplay, power play, sensation play, & more
love nerding out about horror, mortality, & exploration
want something “new” to add to their repertoire
These four classes work great together or separately. You get a discount when you register for the full series, and when you register at least a week before class starts.

Weaponized Consent: CNC Beyond Basics
with Empress Wu
Sunday October 12 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT
CNC is a type of play where “no” might mean “yes” and resistance is part of the fun. This class goes beyond CNC basics to help intermediate players — who already know negotiation, consent, and basic scene planning — explore CNC with creativity and nuance. We’ll explore how to tell if this play is right for you, pre-negotiate tone, plan scenes around “No No No” versus “No No Yes,” use consent itself as a predicament to enhance scenes, and practice effective aftercare, including troubleshooting common pitfalls that come up following this type of play.
Empress Wu (all pronouns) is a multidisciplinary provocateur and cultural activist practicing in NYC and beyond. Their work explores the performance of intimacy, through digital landscapes, ancestral ritual, conflict, and more. Her work in all its forms has been seen at MoMA PS1, Performa Biennial, Brown University, and probably a play space near you.

Fur, Fangs, & Flesh: Monstrous Roleplay
with Dagger
Sunday October 19 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT
How can something that frightens or disgusts us also make us hot? How can we explore and act on daydreams (or nightmares) involving beings that don’t exist? This class dives fangs-first into monster fantasies and offers a tantalizing platter of possibilities for play, whether solo or with partners. We’ll explore classic monster archetypes from shapeshifting beasts to tentacle horrors, the squishy world of fantasy toys, sensation play as a world-building tool, and ready-to-use scenarios for verbal roleplay or LARP after dark.

Queerness & Horror from Past to Present
with Dio
Sunday October 26 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT
For decades, the horror genre has punished queer characters, buried its gays, and twisted gender-nonconformists into caricatured villains. So why are queer people still so drawn to horror? Join horror hound Dio for a haunted tour of horror media through the decades and how classic movie monsters, horror tropes, and symbolism have been shaped by subterranean queer and trans influences. We’ll explore why horror is inherently queer — always has been, and always will be.
Dio (they/he) is a trans leatherqueer, switch, Bootblack, and educator in the Hudson Valley, New York. They use their professional background in teaching and violence prevention, as well as 12+ years in our community, to create safe, accessible spaces, including cofoundingHudson Valley Kennel Club andHudson Valley Dyke Night. They regularly present at events across the region — including International Ms Leather & Bootblack, International Puppy & Trainer, Dark Odyssey, Folsom Street East, and more — and were ranked Hudson Valley’s Sexiest Armpit and runner-up Northeast Handler 2025.

BDSM & Death: Ritual, Mortality, & Memento Mori
with Akasha Eden
Sunday November 2 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT
This class examines death as a concept and asks what it means to live, play, and love while holding death close at hand — think of terms like “ego death” or the French “la petite mort” (climax), or of families promenading to cemeteries to visit their loved ones at rest. Together, we will draw on concepts from philosophers like Socrates, Marcus Aurelius, and Montaigne to discuss historical and cultural perspectives on death in sensual and ritual practice; negotiating edgeplay and symbolic death in scenes; and ethical considerations for mortality-themed play. This class is not about glorifying death, but about cultivating intentionality and contemplating life by exploring and acknowledging its nature.
Akasha Eden (she/they) is a Leatherwoman, griot, event curator, and Leather community servant whose work blends spirituality, mental health advocacy, and academic rigor. Rooted in Black femme resilience, Akasha teaches and presents in hopes of helping community members discover joy, embodiment, and systems navigation in Leather, kink, BDSM, and WIITWD.

What to Expect:
All virtual classes are live on Zoom. You’ll receive everything you need via email as soon as you register. Most are two hours long, including time for Q&A. Can’t make the class time? Classes will be recorded, so if you can’t attend live, you can still get all the info, as long as you register before the class starts. Recordings will be available to watch until the next series of classes begins. After that, the only way to access them will be via the recorded class library on Patreon. (Classes get added there two months after the original series.)
Get Licked! is for everyone: queer, straight, trans, cis, binary, non, monogamous, polyamorous, kinky, vanilla, and all other folks are welcome. Be kind to each other and help each other learn. We are here in community.
Many classes include activities to help you grasp material and build skills. Participation is encouraged, but never required. Listen to your body, and do what feels good for you.
