July Class Series:

Mental Play

About the Series

VIRTUAL: Sundays July 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT. Can’t make class time? Recordings will be sent to students who register in advance.

You can register for the whole series (at a discount) or just the classes you want.

Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words can utterly transform you! This class series explores the power of the mind to turn us on, break us down, and turn us into something else entirely — sometimes without even lifting a finger. We’ll use our words and mental tools to feel the thrill of humiliation, transform a person into an object, drop into hypnotic trance, and get our hearts racing with dirty talk. This series is great for beginner and experienced players alike, especially those who:

  • want to build their skills at weaving vivid fantasies with words

  • want to get better at creating intense mental states like embarrassment, subspace, and trance

  • enjoy play that lets them laugh, blush, get butterflies, and let their walls down

  • play long-distance or over the phone and want to enhance their experiences without relying on touch

These four classes work great together or separately. You get a discount when you register for the full series, and when you register at least a week before class starts.

Joyful Humiliation — with Dagger & Dio

Sunday July 6 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT

Cheeks blushing, heart racing, stomach dropping, everyone's eyes on you: Embarrassment can be absolutely thrilling. While many folks use humiliation for darkness, catharsis, or "edgeplay," this class delights in the cheeky, silly, and absurd, from punishments with pickle juice to human piñatas to rubber-band firing squads. We'll discuss the venn diagram of humiliation, degradation, and embarrassment; identify "painful" versus "joyful" buttons we can press; share the planning and play process behind our favorite joyful humiliation scenes; and offer tools and practice exercises for negotiating your own.

Guest instructor Dio (they/he) is a trans leatherqueer, switch, and educator in the Hudson Valley, New York. They use their professional background in teaching and violence prevention to create safe, accessible kink community spaces — including Hudson Valley Kennel Club and Hudson Valley Dyke Night — and have taught and demoed at over a dozen kink events across the Northeast U.S.

Intro to Hypnosis — with Puy

Sunday 7/13 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to control someone’s mind? Or perhaps you’d rather be the one controlled! We’ll cover basic principles and safety information, dispel common myths that hold people back in exploration, and learn foundational skills and how to use them, with live demonstrations of important techniques. By the end of class, have the skills to put a subject into trance (and know what to expect when getting entranced yourself). Even folks who’ve had trouble achieving hypnosis in the past have been pleasantly surprised by this class!

Guest instructor Puy (she/her) is a nursing student, erotic hypnotist, educator, and switchy weirdo in the Hudson Valley, New York. When she’s not playing or teaching, you can find her making music or playing Magic: The Gathering.

Just a Toy: Exploring Object Play

Sunday 7/20 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT

Being a person can be exhausting; being a thing can be thrilling! This class explores the world of object play, where consenting humans are treated like nonthinking objects, from furniture like footstools and charcuterie boards to art objects like altars and looms to humanoid figures like dress-up dolls and emotionless drones. We’ll get into why this play can be so fun, an array of ready-made scene ideas, and tips for safe and effective play for tops and bottoms.

Wet Hot Words: A Dirty Talk Workshop

Sunday July 27 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT

Words can totally transform our experiences, turning an average hookup into a sizzling second date (or a great bed session into an awkward, uncomfortable affair). This hands-on workshop, built on my 9 years of experience as a professional dirty talker, will help you weave words into fantasies with confidence, spontaneity, and authenticity. We’ll discuss how dirty talk can enhance our scenes, identify what makes it good for you (It’s not the same for everyone!), try some content-generating exercises to move past blockages and get to the good stuff, and help each other find and refine our individual voices.

Note: While you are welcome to attend this workshop camera-off or watch the recording, I HIGHLY recommend joining live and participating in exercises! They’re designed to build your confidence and help you improve in real time, with input tailored to your individual style.

What to Expect:

All virtual classes are live on Zoom. You’ll receive everything you need via email as soon as you register. Most are two hours long, including time for Q&A. Can’t make the class time? Classes will be recorded, so if you can’t attend live, you can still get all the info, as long as you register before the class starts. I hope to offer recorded classes a la carte at some point, but they’re not available yet!

Get Licked! is for everyone: queer, straight, trans, cis, binary, non, monogamous, polyamorous, kinky, vanilla, and all other folks are welcome. Be kind to each other and help each other learn. We are here in community.

Many classes include activities to help you grasp material and build skills. Participation is encouraged, but never required. Listen to your body, and do what feels good for you.
