February Class Series

Fucked-Up Love

About the Series

VIRTUAL: Sundays February 1, 8, and 15 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT. Can’t make class time? Recordings will be sent to students who register in advance.

You can register for the whole series (at a discount) or just the classes you want.

Screw hearts and flowers; this February, we’re learning about partner play that takes us to dark places. This series is designed as a toolkit for players who want to explore emotional edgeplay — from physical resistance and fighting back to roleplay based on unethical relationships to rewriting our own trauma in our scenes. Although beginners are welcome to attend, these classes are designed for intermediate players with a solid grasp of consent, negotiation, and safety basics. They’re especially for players who:

  • fantasize about helplessness and control and want to explore safely

  • already play with power exchange and want to expand their skill set

  • want to handle their own (or their partner’s) trauma with care

  • love roleplay and want new scenarios and dynamics to enjoy

These three classes work best together, but you can enjoy them separately! You get a discount when you register for the full series, and when you register at least a week before class starts.

Feb 1: When No Means Yes: Exploring CNC — with Jamie Joy

Sunday February 1 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT

Consensual non-consent (CNC) is an exhilarating, often misunderstood practice for exploring overwhelming experiences in a container of trust and safety. This interactive workshop delves into the psychological dynamics, ethical considerations, and practical tools that make CNC play consensual and fulfilling for everyone involved. Together, we’ll explore diverse styles of CNC play — like physical resistance, roleplay scenarios, blackmail fantasies, medfet, and more — and learn to navigate them safely by negotiating boundaries, building trust, addressing trauma, and maintaining safety while embracing the healing power of surrender and control.

About the instructor: Jamie Joy (they/them) is a queer trans Jewish certified $#% educator and hungry freak. Their life and work is committed to spreading joy, consent, and pleasure through community organizing. They have been educating on a wide range of topics for the past 10+ years, with experience in schools, health clinics, college campuses, adult shops, national conferences, dungeons and play spaces, nonprofits, community organizations, and more. Jamie Joy loves to stay up late, throw an unforgettable party, and teach people about the wonders of fists and fire play. They are always excited to connect and collaborate.

Feb 8: Narrative Ageplay: Stories We Can Play — with Laura Boyle

Sunday February 8 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT

Ageplay is a type of roleplay where partners take on fantasy ages and (often) family archetypes to explore their kinks together. While Mommy/boy, Daddy/girl, and other classic ageplay dynamics are beautiful and interesting, there’s a lot more to explore and exploit! We’ll begin by approaching classic dynamics as opportunities for narrative, finding specific stories to play out. Then we’ll break out of those dynamics to enjoy the full spectrum of ageplay roles: Bigs who are coaches, grandparents, teachers, aunts, and authority figures; littles and middles who bend the rules or exchange power with each other. Whether you’re a seasoned ageplayer or merely curious, you’ll leave with inspiration and prompts for deeper, more varied scenes and fantasies.

As with all classes at Get Licked!, this class & the techniques in it are for consenting adults only!

About the instructor: Laura Boyle (she/her) is the mind behind Ready for Polyamory. She's been in non-monogamous relationships and involved in her local kink scenes for 20 years now, and teaching classes about kink and polyamory since 2018. She’s the author of two books on non-monogamous relating: Ready for Polyamory and Monogamy? In this Economy? and has been featured as an expert voice in publications from Cosmopolitan to The Boston Globe to The Economist

Feb 15: Trauma Play & Healing: A Deep Dive — with Aidan Sunassee

Sunday February 15 at 3–5pm ET / 12–2pm PT

Note: Since Aidan is located in Germany, this class meets earlier than our usual time!

“Trauma play” involves using kinky play to re-explore, or even re-write, upsetting experiences we’ve had. While some players leave trauma scenes feeling safe and steady, others feel shaken, and many struggle to understand and process the experience. This class brings together community insight and recent research findings to offer a clearer picture of the patterns, meanings, and mechanics people encounter in trauma play. We aren’t here to idealize or pathologize this practice, but rather to look closely at something many people know intimately and want to understand on a deeper level.

About the instructor: Aidan Sunassee (he/him) is a certified sexologist, sexuality educator, consultant, and researcher. With roots in our community and a background in psychology and trauma studies, he blends research with lived experience as he shares his experiences as a Dominant via his project Dominant Discourse. His work focuses on making complex ideas more accessible and centering the voices and knowledge already present in the community.

What to Expect:

All virtual classes are live on Zoom. You’ll receive everything you need via email as soon as you register. Most are two hours long, including time for Q&A. Can’t make the class time? Classes will be recorded, so if you can’t attend live, you can still get all the info, as long as you register before the class starts. Recordings will be available to watch until the next series of classes begins. After that, the only way to access them will be via the recorded class library on Patreon. (Classes get added there two months after the original series.)

Get Licked! is for everyone: queer, straight, trans, cis, binary, non, monogamous, polyamorous, kinky, vanilla, and all other folks are welcome. Be kind to each other and help each other learn. We are here in community.

Many classes include activities to help you grasp material and build skills. Participation is encouraged, but never required. Listen to your body, and do what feels good for you.
